Location: Alexandria, Louisiana Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Day Shift Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee and guide the operations of the Clinical Laboratory and Phlebotomy departments in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role is responsible for leading departmental functions including quality assurance, education, proficiency testing, safety, competency validation, and administrative processes. The Laboratory Manager will play a key role in advancing the mission, vision, and values of the hospital by promoting excellence in patient care and fostering a positive team environment. Key Responsibilities Direct, plan, and coordinate all activities within the clinical laboratory. Provide strategic and operational leadership to laboratory and phlebotomy teams. Assist in establishing and implementing departmental goals, objectives, and quality standards in line with hospital directives. Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, safety, and compliance standards. Manage proficiency testing, staff training, and competency validations. Collaborate with leadership on process improvements, staff development, and resource allocation. Serve as a liaison between the laboratory and other hospital departments. Maintain ethical and professional standards in line with institutional policies. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of hospital laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT). Prior supervisory or management experience in a clinical lab setting preferred. Bachelor's degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related chemical, physical, or biological science field from an accredited institution. Certification required or eligible: MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), CLS (NCA), or specialty certifications such as BB(ASCP), C(ASCP), H(ASCP), M(ASCP), or I(ASCP). Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
