Research Associate, Cell Biology (Contract)

Position Summary:

FL106 is seeking a highly motivated contract Research Associate, Cell Biology to support and expand our biology capabilities. This individual will play a key role in implementing and executing cell-based and tissue-based assays to characterize platform-derived compounds and validate biological readouts. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in immunohistochemistry (IHC), mammalian cell culture, and/or flow cytometry, with a collaborative and detail-oriented mindset. Core Responsibilities:

• Perform and optimize immunohistochemistry (IHC) on cells and tissue samples and analyze results via microscopy imaging.
• Culture and maintain mammalian cell lines, perform compound treatments, and support cell-based assays.
• Execute and analyze flow cytometry experiments to assess cell phenotype, viability, and target engagement.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members in chemistry and biology to plan and execute experiments.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in electronic lab notebooks (ELN).
• Present experimental data and findings in team meetings.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related field

• Hands-on experience in at least one of the following:

• Immunohistochemistry and tissue section imaging via microscopy

• Mammalian cell culture (including sterile technique and basic passaging)

• Flow cytometry (sample prep, staining, analysis)

• Strong organizational and documentation skills

• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot experiments, and maintain attention to detail

• Effective communicator and collaborative team member

Preferred but Not Required:

• Experience in RNA extraction and downstream assays (e.g., qPCR)
• Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., FlowJo, ImageJ, GraphPad)
• Exposure to high-throughput or automated platforms
