LEAD CHEMIST

SUMMARY:
ASEA is looking for a Lead Chemist to be responsible for conducting lab experiments to develop new products and enhance existing ones. This person will work closely with cross discipline team members and lead cross -departmental collaborations. They will also design and execute research, develop new methodology, and ensure compliance in lab operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating with cross discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
- Conduct laboratory experiments and innovative research to develop new products or enhance existing ones.
- Demonstrate competence in conducting most types of physical and chemical analyses (including complex ones) according to ASEA established Standard Operation Procedures (SOP's), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's) and FDA regulations.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, specifically related to inorganic compound properties, with a focus on redox reactions, and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
- Design and execute research studies, utilizing expertise in inorganic synthesis, and understanding biomolecular interactions.
- Lead cross-departmental collaborations, such as quality control and manufacturing, to integrate findings into product development.
- Develop new methodologies for studying and applying redox chemistry in biological systems.
- Ensure consistency and repeatability of process to get acceptable yield and quality.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in inorganic chemistry and related fields to identify potential innovations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards in all lab operations.
- Drive strategic projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and efficacy of both novel and ongoing product and equipment initiatives.
- Write experimental summaries and project reports. Assist with revisions to SOP's, laboratory records and other documentation as assigned.
- Troubleshoot chemical methods and day-to-day operations and maintenance.
- Assist Laboratory management with laboratory events, OOS and OOT investigations.
- Ability to work with different types of chemical solvents, using proper personal protective equipment (PPE), as defined by the standard operating procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A master's degree in a related field.
- Strong background in inorganic chemistry - especially redox reactions.
- -Advanced expertise in working with metals, catalysts, or inorganic compounds.
- Proficiency in routine and specific laboratory techniques like HPLC, ICP-MS, and UV spectroscopy.
- Analytical and critical-thinking skills for problem-solving complex chemical and biochemical challenges.
- Effective communication skills for presenting findings, collaborating with teams, and drafting technical documentation.
- Ability to recognize areas for process improvements.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- A master's or PhD degree in chemistry, expertise or focus on inorganic chemistry is preferred.
- Significant laboratory experience or prior R&D roles in inorganic chemistry, or a related area.
- Familiarity with the practical application of inorganic chemistry and biochemistry in product development and innovation.
