Location: Morton, IL (Hybrid - M, F remote; T, W, Th onsite)

Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate: $31-35/hour (W2 + Benefits & Swoon covers 50% of Benefits) OR $38-41/hour (C2C)

Job Description:

The Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) provides technical expertise and leadership to ensure robust quality plans and continuous improvement processes within the supplier network. The role focuses on Quality, Cost, Logistics, Delivery, and Management (QCLDM) while maintaining compliance with corporate and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess potential suppliers through on-site QCLDM audits.

Drive the implementation of Lean, BIQ, and APQP methodologies.

Review supplier capacity and ensure production readiness through PPAP submission reviews.

Monitor supplier adherence to Process Change Notification (PCN) requirements.

Provide technical leadership and strategic support for supplier process control.

Collaborate with suppliers to ensure adequate resources, training, tooling, and process controls.

Conduct quality management system audits and Supplier Evaluation Surveys (SES).

Review and validate 8D permanent corrective action plans.

Support Supplier Performance Management Reviews (SPM) and Supplier Excellence Recognition (SER) certification.

Assist with root cause corrective actions (RCCA) and supplier quality issue resolution.

Engage in Six Sigma initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Typical Day & Team Interaction:

Monitoring supplier quality metrics, including PPAP approvals and non-conformance management.

Collaborating with suppliers to meet SER certification metrics and resolve quality issues.

Working closely with cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative environment.

Hybrid work environment: mix of office and remote work.

Qualifications (Required):

Bachelor's degree (preferably in Engineering or Quality) or equivalent experience.

1-2 years of experience in supplier quality or related fields.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask.

Experience with EtQ (PPAP, NCM, PCM, deviations).

Print reading proficiency.

Qualifications (Desired):

Quality Engineering certification (ASQ preferred).

Experience with Supplier Excellence Recognition (SER) certification.

Knowledge of Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) and Procure systems.

Experience conducting supplier audits and surveys.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication skills (both interpersonal and in group settings).

Excellent organization and time management skills.

Self-starter with minimal supervision required.

Disqualifiers:

Lack of supplier quality experience.

Inability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
