Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Spatial Data Scientist to join our team! This data scientist would help drive spatial/spatiotemporal statistical analysis of AOEA's AOR mission issues and would help develop/implement statistical methodologies for incorporating multiple datasets. The spatial data scientist will develop strategies for exposing new datasets and create migration plans for legacy datasets as well as enable the office to perform deeper analysis of trends over time, ensure that collected data can be used across the IC now and in the future, and provide greater access to data holdings. This candidate will develop and document processes for data discovery, modeling, and production that adhere to enterprise architecture standards, and will enable data for analysis, visualization, and modeling to address missionspecific intelligence issues.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Work with various stakeholders to develop data strategies and provide the data necessary to meet AOEA requirements.

  • Use data mining for structured and unstructured information to satisfy deployer requests.

  • Apply advanced spatial analytic capabilities to derive insights from a combination of unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data.

  • Maintain, move, and manipulate data between applications and across NGA Domains, using appropriate software as technology evolves. Strength in collaboration and teamwork within, between, and across organizational boundaries.

  • Maintain databases for issues regarding full life cycle of data from design to production, conversion, migration, translation, and data quality assurance.

  • Transfer, load, and share data using current government provided capabilities in accordance with administrative policies and procedures.

  • Project long range requirements for database administration in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function as well as business function managers.

  • Identify emerging technologies/software and represent the office at technology meetings.

  • Be familiar with digital imagery and digital imagery processes

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelors Degree in STEM field and at least 4+ years of related experience. Additional years' experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree.

  • Must possess the ability to leverage a range of data sources (e.g., various spatial data types (including raster, vector, and web services), SharePoint, customer requests for information, survey responses, production databases, etc.) to satisfy requirements.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office, data mining, ability to develop, manipulate, and maintain databases.

  • Experience with spatial software, such as the ArcGIS Suite and Tableau. Of particular importance is software packages used for spatial statistical analysis of intelligence data and tools for data visualization.

  • Understanding of Geospatial Policies and data handling restrictions, including cross-domain data movement, and data sharing strategies with IC mission partners and customers.

  • Working knowledge of statistical software, such as R or similar.

Required Clearance:

  • Candidate must have an active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph.
