Your Role:
This is a hands-on laboratory position that will need meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work in a matrixed environment. You should have a keen interest in expanding your knowledge and understanding of biosafety in bioprocessing operations to aid in new product development and optimize the performance of current products for MilliporeSigma customers.
Responsibilities include but are no limited to:
- Perform virus titer assays to execute filtration and virus inactivation studies using model bacteriophages and mammalian viruses.
- Collaborate with technical project leads in Virology and product development teams to complete project deliverables within established timelines.
- Execute testing protocols and occasionally author reports, adhering to proper documentation practices.
- Contribute to data-driven problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical input on testing design and execution topics with teams developing products.
- Support method and equipment development, improvement projects, new technology and equipment evaluation, method validation, and training.
Physical Attributes:
- Lift 35 to 40 pounds.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or other Life Science disciplines.
- 2+ year of lab experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with aseptic techniques, cell culture, and virus and bacteria enumeration and assay methods.
- Experience with laboratory practices, techniques, equipment, materials, and mathematical calculations.
- Work with biological materials under BSL-2 biosafety practices
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft applications, including data manipulation in Excel.
