Title: Lab Manager
Scope of Position
Provides high quality analytical support to production, R&D, process development, material control, sales and marketing, and external customers. This position directly reports to the Plant Manager.

Responsibility and Authority
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing equipment and control of the Analytical Laboratory
  • Creating and maintaining a work environment that leads to a motivated workforce and collaborative team dynamics
  • Maintain a quality assurance program that leads to the prevention and detection of analytical services improvement opportunities
  • Develop and maintain necessary procedures and programs in support of the lab's quality management system
  • Identify improvement opportunities in alignment with the companys objectives
  • Responsible for the acceptance or rejection of raw products, including the rejection of non-conforming products both in-coming, those occurring during the manufacturing process and the release of finished products. Specification criteria and testing guidelines are used for this control
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment, (including the calibrations) and human resources necessary to accomplish this testing of product samples, including the recording and maintaining of results and data
  • Responsible for managing the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Technical Data Sheets
  • Responsible for creating, updating, reviewing Product specification sheets, Analytical Methods and guidelines are revised within the department
  • Responsible for entering all Q.C. data, filing, maintaining equipment calibration records, service contracts of Q.C. Instrumentations
  • Responsible for approving finished products to be shipped to customers
  • Responsible for checking and verifying all finished products analysis to ensure that results are checked, verified and consistent, additionally meets specification
  • Responsible for making sure that CoA are created accurately, checked, verified and released to customer by email and with shipment in a timely manner
  • Responsible for creating, updating, maintaining SPC charts for intermediates, finished products to monitor continual improvement of processes
  • Responsible for training lab personnel to make sure processes and procedures are followed correctly


Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or similar degree
  • Manufacturing industry background
  • 5+ years of Lab leadership
