Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Medical Lab Scientist I to join our team. In this role, you will perform both routine and complex laboratory procedures to support quality patient care. You will work in a collaborative environment where your technical expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in delivering accurate test results. Responsibilities
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory CLIA State requirements.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficiency with computers.
- High level of attention to detail, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
- State Medical Technologist license may be required.
- ASCP or AMT certification is either preferred or required.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
- Associate's Degree and MLS Certification.
