Under the direction of the Section Supervisor, the Medical Laboratory Scientist employs professional knowledge and judgment to perform technical, physical, clerical and quality assurance functions in the department. W ork independently to prepare patient samples/specimens for laboratory tests; perform various chemical, microbiological, and microscopic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis. Perform quality control, calibrations, and equipment maintenance.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science or equivalent science degree or Meet CLIA requirements

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 or more years of work experience in a clinical laboratory, preferably in a hospital setting
