The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Counter-WMD Advanced Technologies Scientist/Engineer in Albuquerque, NM as part of our Counter-WMD Systems Engineering and Integration Team, supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Primary responsibilities include the modeling and analysis of weapon system performance and aerial dispersal phenomenology.
This position is new work which we expect to be awarded later in 2025.

In this role you will:
- Perform advanced high fidelity model development, improvement, validation, technical parametric studies of sub-scale and full-scale weapons systems development for energetic and non-energetic materials and weapons performance.
- Employ experience in inorganic and organometallic chemistry, explosives, indoor air quality, air exchange rates, and filtration techniques, in order to advise the program manager on scientific and technical performance issues.
- Analyze digital engineering tools/support as required. Digital engineering will provide a holistic approach to the design of a complex system using models/data instead of documents, integration of data across models, and in turn provide a culture change across project teams to realize significant risk reduction, cost, and schedule.
Required Security Clearance:
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required however we have the ability to hire at the Secret level for highly qualified candidates who are willing to upgrade to TS/SCI.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
- Active Secret level security clearance and the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific field and 12+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with DTRA research and development or developmental testing and evaluation
Desired Experience, Skills, and Education:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Graduate degree in engineering or a scientific field of study
- Prior experience supporting DTRA RD-TS or RD-CXW

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
