Chemical Laboratory Technician

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Chemistry Lab Technician for contract-to-hire position at premier petroleum testing laboratory in Benicia, CA . Pay Rate: $28-31/hr DOE

Shift: 2PM-10:30 PM (OT/ on call as needed)

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive, examine, and log inbound samples for testing.
  
• Deliver test samples to the appropriate staging areas.
  
• Monitor laboratory supply levels and notify the Laboratory Manager of restocking needs.
  
• Perform testing of samples and quality control specimens after demonstrating proficiency.
  
• Review results against specifications and expectations.
  
• May be authorized to release analysis results to clients.
  
• Prepare samples, quality control specimens, reagents, and solutions.
  
• Calibrate equipment necessary for testing procedures.
  
• Record and verify results in laboratory logs, control charts, worksheets, and electronic systems to ensure data validity and traceability.
  
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  
• Assist in training less experienced technicians once proficiency is demonstrated.
  
• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 years experience in a laboratory environment specific to petroleum testing.
  
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree (preferred) or equivalent experience
  
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  
• Strong commitment to safety practices and workplace policies.
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
  
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  
• Strong customer focus and quality-driven mindset.
  
• Flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends.
