We are seeking a talented and creative research scientist to work on integrating deformation, exhumation, and landscape evolution. This appointment will work closely with the Tectonics group of Professor Nadine McQuarrie, studying the geometry, kinematic evolution, exhumation, and topographic development of compressional mountains . Current research activities focus on linking the geometry and kinematics of mapped structures to thermochronometer cooling ages to look at the interplay between tectonics and erosion on exhumation patterns and morphology of mountain ranges. Opportunities for field work are available but not required . As an active member of the Tectonics group , they will spearhead collaborative research that leads to the publication of peer-reviewed articles, contribute to grant and proposal writing, and help train graduate and undergraduate students. A Ph.D. in Geoscience with a focus on tectonics and/or structural geology is required .
