ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) ANGELES DISTRICT/ NATURAL RESOURCES/ MALIBU CREEK STATE PARK
The Angeles District has an opening for an Environmental Scientist (PI). Under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), this position is responsible for the identification and scoping of projects to mitigate and repair cannabis cultivation impacts through remediation and restoration, as well as the development and implementation of protective strategies. The incumbent is expected to work as part of the Fire Resiliency Program and will also exercise a moderate level of independent action. The position may be responsible for leading the work of others, such as Environmental Services Interns and student assistants. The reporting location is the Angeles District Headquarters in Malibu Creek State Park at 1925 Las Virgenes Road Calabasas, CA, 91302.

This position is designated as telework eligible-office centered.
This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working ConditionsOffice working conditions, some field work and possible travel is required . May work in various locations, nights and weekends depending on program/project needs. Typical working hours are Monday Friday 0700 to 1530. Will be working outdoors under adverse conditions, hiking over uneven and steep sloped terrain, and carrying heavy loads.
