Our client is an international cosmetics company, seeking for a Research and Development Chemist (Consumer Goods) who are passionate about consumer goods!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$22/hr

Position Overview:

This Research and Development Chemist (Consumer Goods) position is within the Product Development and Research and Development laboratory. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to join a collaborative team testing a wide variety of products under cGMP/GLP regulations. This position is a full-time, dayshift role.

Responsibilities of the Research and Development Chemist (Consumer Goods):

  • Provide support to make batches of cosmetic/personal care products (from scratch or improve existing formulas) and test the formulation and stability of those batches.
  • Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out measurements.
  • Operating standard laboratory equipment, i.e., centrifuges, titrators, pH meters, rheometers, etc.
  • Performing routine tests on products such as measuring pH, specific gravity, viscosity, as well as sensory testing of color, odor, appearance and texture.
  • Keeping track of comprehensive and accurate test results.
  • Working upon multiple development topics and projects as required.

Required Experience/Skills for the Research and Development Chemist (Consumer Goods):

  • Must be comfortable working within an Research and Development laboratory setting and knowledgeable about the requirements of operating & maintaining an R&D laboratory.
  • Self-starter who can be effective with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the company.
  • Writing skills consistent with the ability to prepare concise, timely and accurate reports.
  • Must have hands-on experience in research and development within the consumer goods space.
  • Must have a desire to build a career within the personal care/cosmetic industry.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Research and Development Chemist (Consumer Goods):

  • 3 - 6 months experience in Research and Development in the consumer goods industry.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant science such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemistry.
