We are developing a single-molecule protein analysis platform of unprecedented sensitivity, scale, and ease of use that we believe will democratize access to the proteome - one of the most dynamic and valuable sources of biological insight. To accomplish this, we are pursuing hard scientific problems with an entrepreneurial mindset and creating a world-class team of builders, innovators, and dreamers across a wide range of disciplines.
We are hiring for a Scientist I to join our growing team. This role is within the Core Lab team and focuses on ensuring customer success by supporting their research and development initiatives. The person in the role will be responsible for driving the development and execution of proteoform detection workflows, reagent characterization, and assay transfer on the Nautilus single-molecule proteomics platform, while collaborating cross-functionally to advance platform capabilities and support operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Optimize and execute workflows to detect proteoforms from customer samples using the Nautilus single molecule proteomics platform
Collaborate with cross-functional R D teams and external collaborators to help develop our platform's capabilities
Design and execute assay transfer from R D to Core Lab
Perform affinity reagent characterization against complex targets on the Nautilus platform
Implement kinetic characterization of affinity reagents developed in house
Support daily operations of the team and provide technical input to troubleshoot failures

Ability to build workflows for the team to execute
Proven record of high productivity and success in a dynamic R D environment
Previous experience with sample accessioning and LIMS/ELN workflow systems is preferred
Previous experience with BLI, SPR or other antibody characterization assays is a plus
Ability to meet project timelines and deliverables consistently
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Flexibility and ability to learn new technologies quickly in order to solve new challenges
Nautilus Team Culture
We are determined to do whatever it takes to get our platform into the hands of researchers who will use it to upend the status quo in basic research and healthcare.
We work on cross functional teams, wear many hats, take risks to work through uncertainty, enjoy working collaboratively on challenging problems, and celebrate one another's victories.
We go above and beyond, but also strive to provide a supportive atmosphere of colleagues who are willing to lend a helping hand and make working at Nautilus not only fulfilling in its end goals, but enjoyable on a day-to-day basis.
