Position Summary: Waseyabek Federal Services, LLC is looking for a Chemical/Process engineer to support operations at the DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) in Pittsburgh, PA or Morgantown, WV. This position will support the research engineering group by performing small-scale design projects, evaluating and optimizing existing systems, troubleshooting systems, and working closely with fellow site operations personnel. Position Requirements: Experience with process design of systems, including process flow diagrams, heat and mass balance calculations, stream summary reports, and gas supply and distribution systems. Mechanical aptitude is essential to success in this position. Efficiently use AutoDesk AutoCAD and Inventor to prepare engineering drawings, including but not limited to Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and room/building layout drawings. Prepare and check moderately complex calculations within the chemical/process engineering discipline, including pressure relief valve sizing calculations in accordance with ASME codes such as B31.3, Section VIII and IX. Independently lead design/build projects across all 3 NETL sites. Review interdisciplinary engineering documents and work with other engineering team members to resolve any issues. Create and/or review purchase orders, statements of work, and subcontracts. Support in-house technicians on new installations and maintenance/modification issues. Assist with developing man-hour estimates for design, fabrication, and installation. Maintain a positive working relationship with the customer and communicate effectively to the customer.
