Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced
As an Environmental Scientist, you'll work on a team comprised of 20+ scientists, geologist, technicians, engineers and project managers of all experience levels, diving into both office and field tasks related to environmental evaluations, regulatory compliance, and permitting initiatives. Plus, you'll lend a hand to our industrial hygiene team in various roles.
What You Will Do:
- Environmental Evaluations: Conduct fieldwork and compile reports for environmental evaluations, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Brownfields assessments.
- Installations and Sampling: Manage soil borings, monitoring wells, and vapor point installations; gather and analyze samples of groundwater, vapor, and soil/sediment.
- Industrial Hygiene Inspections: Carry out fieldwork, evaluations, and reporting for industrial hygiene hazards and hazardous materials, such as asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, PCBs, mercury, and indoor air quality.
- Regulatory Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance by conducting stormwater sampling and underground storage tank (UST) assessments and investigations.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Record, interpret, and compare data to regulatory standards, and prepare comprehensive environmental reports.
What We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, geology, chemistry or related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field
- Basic technical writing skills at the college level
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
What to Expect:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
- Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
- Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
