Research or Senior Research Scientist, In Vitro Tumor Biology

Candidate will be responsible for performing in vitro studies for cancer drug discovery programs. This includes the development of relevant preclinical model systems for the identification and validation of Client therapeutic targets. The successful candidate is able to work with minimal supervision in most molecular and cellular biology techniques and demonstrates an understanding of cancer biology. Experience with oncogenic signaling pathways and targeted therapies is an advantage. The candidate is expected to work with their supervisor to design and execute a research plan that will answer critical questions about compounds and targets under evaluation.

Summary of the Essential Functions of the Job
  • Design, execute and interpret in vitro pharmacology experiments to guide compound SAR development and explore therapeutic potential of drug targets
  • Apply chemical and genetic tools as well as state-of-art technologies to interrogate cancer biology and understand the mechanism of actions of Client targets
  • Experienced in protein analysis techniques such as Western Blot, ELISA, MSD, HTRF
  • Familiar with small molecule drug screening and cell-based assay development.
  • Identify or develop appropriate in vitro model systems to answer key biological or pharmacological questions
  • Experience in advanced cell culture techniques, including three-dimensional (3-D) cell culture systems, co-culture systems and organoid culture systems
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, evaluate data, prepare reports and presentations for internal meetings in a timely manner
  • Work collaboratively across multiple functional groups to achieve drug discovery goals
  • Communicate key findings to leadership team at internal meetings to help decision making

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, Genetics, Molecular Biology
  • Strong background in oncogenic signaling pathways with hands on experience in cell and molecular biology including cell culture, cell growth assays, siRNA, CRISPR, western blot, ELISA and common high-throughput protein analysis techniques such as HTRF and MSD
  • Experience in the following techniques including flow cytometry, real-time PCR, immune cell isolation is a plus
  • Proficient at conducting thorough scientific literature review using Pubmed and other resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
  • Research Scientist (0-3 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical), Sr. Research Scientist (3-5 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical)
