Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Applications Lab Technician to join our coatings laboratory team. This is a full-time, onsite role in a fast-paced environment, supporting the testing and application of automotive coatings. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, the ability to follow precise protocols, and the physical capability to manage hands-on lab tasks.
Job Description
- Prepare automotive coatings test panels and parts using automated application equipment.
- Perform equipment metrology and preventative maintenance.
- Conduct coatings tests and document results with precision.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
- Follow all corporate and site safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in experimental spray trials and support ongoing lab development.
- Interact with a team inside the Painting Process Laboratory and support R&D efforts.
Skills Required
- At least 1 year of general work experience; manufacturing or lab environment experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of chemistry and algebra.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and assignments.
- Punctual, dependable, and eager to learn.
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED required
- Associate's degree is preferred
Additional Requirements
- Shift: M-F 2PM - 10:30PM (Training is being done on the job during day shift: 6:00 AM 2:30 PM and might take up to 2 months)
Pay Rate
- $19 and higher depending on experience and education
