Job Description We are seeking a QC Analytical Chemist to establish and develop analytical reporting for flavor development. This role involves conducting analytical tests on raw materials, final products, and customer samples, preparing and standardizing solutions according to standard operating procedures, and maintaining a global database. Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical tests on raw materials, final products, and customer samples, focusing on flavorings, their presence, storage, and degradation.
- Prepare and standardize solutions, reagents, and samples according to standard operating procedures.
- Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment by following established cleaning protocols, including cleaning and properly storing glassware.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and notify the team when replenishment is required.
- Learn and utilize GCA software, OpenLab, Empower, and all required programs to run samples and effectively process data.
- Conduct sample preparation exercises including extraction and analysis preparation for SPME or direct injection to support the forensic discovery of aroma molecules in food and beverage.
- Maintain consumables to ensure reporting accuracy, conduct instrumentation maintenance, and develop expertise in new instrumentation, sample preparation methods, and reporting to expand current capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or Chemical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of experience in the Fragrance/Flavor industry with olfactory/sensory and sample preparation.
- 1+ years of experience with GC, GCMS/LC, particularly using Agilent and Shimadzu equipment.
- Experience in Quality Control, Wet Chemistry, Pipetting, Flashpoint, and Density Testing.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Agile, detail-oriented, curious, and open-minded.
