Position Summary:
As a Scientist, Analytical Testing within Cell Therapy Analytical Development, this energetic, collaborative and motivate individual will lead a small team responsible for analytical testing in support of early and late-stage drug product development with an emphasis on flow-based methods. The ideal individual will have foundational knowledge of flow cytometry including assay development, execution, troubleshooting and instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a small team of scientists responsible for the execution, analyses and data review of assays used to support drug product development
- Act as a flow cytometry subject matter expert for the Analytical Testing Team
- Run routine assays as needed
- Manage teams workload and time commitment to ensure efficient data turn around
- Continuously improve on group workflows to drive operational excellence
- Interpret and present data to key program stakeholders
- Ensure team is up to date on data entries and training
- Reinforce safe workplace practices in accordance with company and OSHA policies/procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Ph.D. or extensive experience (5+years) in Immunology, Cell/Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Fundamental knowledge of flow cytometry panel design, compensation matrices, and analyses is required. Including experience with FlowJo and working knowledge of flow cytometry instrumentation.
- Previous management experience of direct reports or matrix teams. Demonstrated track record of experience leading teams to achieve objectives in industrial and/or academic settings.
- Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a self-driven, fast-paced team environment and prioritize work from multiple projects within a flexible work schedule.
- Detail-oriented with scientific technical writing and presentation skills.
- Experience with BD FACSymphony, Canto, Lyric, and Beckman Coulters CytoFlex platform is highly desirable.
- Experience with ELN systems is preferred.
- Motivation and drive to acquire new skills and knowledge.
- Willingness to work in a regulated industrial environment.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $97,000 - $121,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the geographic location where work is performed.
