As a System Development Engineer on the Fire TV 3P Apps QA team, you will be part of a team that owns quality assurance for various streaming applications supported on Fire TV products, building services, tools, and application development frameworks - working on projects that push the boundaries of customer-device interaction. This job requires you to hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks that will define your success. You will develop, deploy, and maintain, reliable technical solutions to improve the quality standards for streaming applications on Fire TV. You will work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java, ASP.NET, C/C#, Windows, Linux, and AWS services. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and will have the opportunity to redefine an industry while working with different teams across Amazon and 3rd party app developers. Key job responsibilities Perform in-depth troubleshooting, root cause analysis and identify technical solution for issues impacting streaming applications across Fire TV platforms Drive technical solutions for operational challenges and system optimization Execute performance improvements through code enhancements and script development Develop and implement automated solutions to replace manual operational processes Design and maintain monitoring systems for service health metrics Optimize support engineering workflows through innovative tooling solutions Design and develop automation tools and applications to optimize Fire TV 3P Apps ecosystem Architect and implement monitoring solutions including metrics dashboards for 3P apps health tracking Lead complex code analysis and implement critical fixes across Fire TV applications Collaborate with external developers and internal engineering teams to maintain application quality standards Partner with operations teams to implement and maintain service level agreements Provide technical guidance for production releases and deployments A day in the life As a System Development Engineer, you'll drive technical excellence across Fire TV's streaming ecosystem by: Architecting and implementing scalable solutions to complex technical challenges Collaborating with cross-functional engineering and product teams to enhance streaming application performance Leading technical initiatives to establish and maintain quality standards for Fire TV applications Identifying and implementing system optimizations through cross-team partnerships Designing innovative solutions that scale across the Fire TV platform ecosystem About the team As a System Development Engineer on the Fire TV 3P Apps QA team, you will be part of a quality assurance team that owns quality standards for various streaming applications supported on Fire TV products, building services, tools, and application development frameworks - working on projects that push the boundaries of customer-device interaction. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - - 5+ years of experience working within engineering teams building successful production software systems - - Strong experience with agile software development lifecycle, including continuous deployment automation, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, testing, and operations following CI/CD best practices - - Advanced proficiency in one or more high-level programming language: Java, ASP.NET, C/C++, C#, Python, or Perl - - Experience with system analysis and troubleshooting in large-scale Windows or Linux environment - - Proven track record of driving cross-team initiatives with strong problem-solving abilities and dedication to delivering high-quality, customer-focused solutions - - Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication with peers and non-technical stakeholders. - - Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Proven object-oriented design and implementation skills, preferably on Windows or Unix/Linux platform - Deep Experience with Windows and Microsoft technologies. - Strong understanding of modern database technology, experience with AWS database products such as RDS - Advanced understanding of Audio/video technology for Android Applciations - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field. - Solid knowledge of CS fundamentals - object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, problem solving and complexity analysis. - 7+ years relevant work experience Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
