Cenovus is hiring a Senior Process Engineer - Relief System Technical Authority for its Toledo refinery. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on pressure relief systems providing technical leadership, ensuring compliance, risk communication, and continuous improvement of safety processes. The engineer will mentor staff, interact with senior leadership, and drive technical solutions to enhance process safety and system efficiency.

What you'll do:

* Perform PSV calculations, maintain PSV database and maintain the refinery's flare model.

* Applies good engineering judgement and experience in bypassing of relief systems to continue safe operation of the refinery.

* Provide relief systems troubleshooting advice to Operations and Technical personnel

* Provide relief systems technical support for Unit Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) revalidations and internal and external audit reviews.

* Support the planning, preparation and execution of turnarounds, as related to PSV technical issues and advise projects teams on relief valve sizing and compliance for the site.

* Actively drive PSV Governance Team to prioritize and manage risk reduction, and work in conjunction with the site PSV Mechanical Authority and Mechanical Engineering Team.

Who you are:

* Legally authorized to work in the US

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. Chemical Engineering preferred.

* Minimum 8 years of relevant experience. Experience working in a refinery or a chemical plant or in a process design company as a Process Engineer a plus.

* Strong interpersonal skills and customer-focused
