Contribute to daily operations and scientific problem solving through utilization of XRF instrumentation with an emphasis on Micro-XRF instrumentation. Contribute to the delivery of R&D projects that generate new materials, processes and understanding. Prioritization of workload. Develop methods, trouble shoot instrumentation issues, participate on project teams, familiar with analytical chemistry.

• Work to become a technical expert in XRF technology.
• Contribute within a diverse team of scientists and technicians within the XRF group.
• Manage equipment and resources to keep lab running in good working order.
• Use rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build fundamental understanding.
• Provide input and/or document ideas and contributions in IDs, RTRs, NTRs as well as refereed publications.
• Identify and articulate problems as well as develop and execute approaches to solving them.
• Provide day-to-day problem-solving support to Research, Development, and Manufacturing.
• Develop new methods/applications as needs arise
• Document data and write reports for laboratory processes and instrumentation.
• Make technical presentations to customers and at conferences.
• Function as a team leader on focused projects.
• Support and/or lead continuous improvement activities on products and processes.
• Deploy developed technology, as needed.

• Minimum Master's degree (MS) in Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 yrs. of industrial experience or equivalent experience
• Experience within an analytical laboratory setting
• Strong aptitude and enthusiasm to learn new techniques, methods, and analytical equipment
• Good problem solving skills;
• Strong customer service skills
• Good technical writing and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work with and train or coach technicians when needed
• Strong Statistics background.

• Experience with Micro-XRF equipment
• Experience with Panalytical WD XRF equipment
• Experience with Handheld ED XRF
• Experience with bench-top ED XRF Spectrometers
• Experience with Minitab Statistical software.

The range for this position is $86,728.00 - $119,251.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
