APPLE INC has the following available for Software Development Engineer - Applications (REQ# 200604301) in Austin, Texas. Design, develop, and maintain software systems and solutions, new services, tools, or software for testing and automation. Write high performance, reusable, and modular code, working with application teams to identify opportunities to build common re-usable frameworks. Test and improve existing codebase - review software code to identify defects, build and execute unit tests, run static code analysis to ensure code quality, run performance, load/stress tests, and validate non-functional aspects of new software. Troubleshoot, identify, and research software to recommend software innovations. Author corresponding documentation for software maintenance and sustainability. business requirements into system requirements and application design specifications. Work with cross-functional teams that depend on our services and our customer facing applications to understand their requirements and identify design and engineering impacts, establishing optimal implementations and user experience that will perform at scale and establish proper monitoring to proactively alert in case of errors.
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
1. Java to troubleshoot and debug backend proxy and services layers.
2. SQL to update application database queries
3. Kafka to process large amounts of data and debug and troubleshoot issues in mission-critical applications.
4. Python to understand critical offline jobs and resolve issues
5. Design, author, and release code in coding languages such as Java, Swift, JavaScript, or Unix Script
6.Monitoring and log mining experience using tools like Splunk, Grafana, or Cloudera CDP
7. Using NoSQL solutions like MongoDB, Cassandra, or HBase
8. Using data platforms like Oracle, Cloudera, or Snowflake.
