Job Description
The position resides in the Critical Pipeline Reagent Sciences Group (CPRS) contained within the Purification Process Sciences R D department. Members of the CPRS function work closely with the research scientists and process development scientists to generate pipeline supporting molecules. Position may require weekend work and/or periodic late-nights.
Main duties are as follows:
Generation of biopharmaceutical reagents to advance the R D *** pipeline
Performing purifications for complex biopharmaceutical drugs such as antibodies, bispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, DuetMabs, pDNA, and viruses
Performing conjugations of candidate drugs and anti-IDs to support PK/PD studies
Solving challenging protein purification problems
Performs technology development projects to increase purification efficiency
Coordinating closely with the research department, cell culture group, and analytical biotechnology group in order to meet project timelines and company goals
Analyzing and interpreting analytical and process data
Maintain accurate records of data and actively participate in laboratory organization
Professionally deliver results to internal and external audiences
Supervision: Should be able to function with limited supervision and is expected to work independently on a day-to-day basis. Expectation for independence will increase with time and experience in the position.

Knowledge of
o Basic Protein Chemistry
o Protein Chromatography
o Purification Process Design for Monoclonal Antibodies and Client Proteins
o Basic Analytical Techniques (HPLC and SDS-PAGE Analyses)
o Protein Modification by Conjugation
o Statistics Software and DOE Analysis
Experience performing protein chromatography using Akta/Akta software
Experience performing analytical testing
