We recognize the importance of creating a work environment that is both rewarding to our employees and supportive of our unwavering commitment to provide unparalleled service to our clients. **Purpose** The primary job of the Process Engineer is to work collaboratively with the project team and assist with project design from conception through final design and construction support. The tasks generally involve creating PFDs, P&IDs, Process Simulations, Sizing Relief devices, Design Basis documents, Equipment and Instrument sizing and datasheet development, Cause & Effect and Controls Narrative development. **Responsibilities** **Leadership and Direction** + Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially on highly complex assignments. Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance. + Position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities but will serve as a lead/resource among team of colleagues in equivalent roles to share technical proficiency, guidance, and mentorship. May occasionally assist in delegation of assignments or provide feedback to managers. + Basic leadership skills and some general experience leading work groups or task forces in specific projects. + Ability to lead and manage projects. **At the Operational and Company Level** + Work with clients, contractors, project managers and engineering disciplines to ensure the project execution plan is effective, comprehensive, reasonable and obtainable. **Do the Work** + Developing and managing P&ID sets + Carry out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed standards (API, ASME, etc) + Support process hazard analysis (PHA) and/or layers of protection analysis (LOPA) during design development + Develop process simulations (VMG, HYSYS) to evaluate or validate process design. + Performing sizing calculations for relief valves, pressure safety valves (PSVs), control valves, separators, compressors and other equipment that projects may need. + Participate in field walkdowns for design verification. + Demonstrate a safety mindset both on and off the job. + Generate and confirming process design basis. + Problem-solving skills to be able to resolve simple problems quickly and effectively + Basic self-direction and responsibility for own tasks, deliverables, and timelines + Helping to prepare project funding documents such as cost estimates, equipment bid summaries and authorization requests **Success Metrics and Competencies** + Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. + Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners. + Highly motivated and problem-solving attitude. + Strong sense of urgency in responding to constituents. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. + Strong work ethic and commitment to quality. + Self-reliance and ability to operate independently with limited direction. + Effective working relationship with internal leaders and peers, as well as external clients. **Qualifications** + Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering. + At least six (6+) years of design/consulting experience in the oil and gas or chemical industry. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + The ability to learn or have basic knowledge of gas codes and regulations, including 49 CFR Part 192 193, 195, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, B31.12, API 520 Pt. 1 & 2, API 521 and ASME BPVC Section VII. + Experience in engineering/specification of process equipment. + Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. + Prefer Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or Professional Engineer (PE) License. **Physical Demands and Working Environment** + Primarily/Occasional/Frequent indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic. + Mobility around an office environment. + Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. + Primarily/Occasional/Frequent outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards. + Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). + Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment and/or drones, necessitating walking the assigned study area to complete data collection over the course of several hours. + Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business. + Occasional lifting or carrying up to (enter appropriate pounds - 20 minimum). + Occasional pushing or pulling up to (enter appropriate pounds - 20 minimum). + Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder. Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience.
