Chemist II - Englewood, CO

Type: Temp (1-yr potential for extension and conversion)
Shift: 1 st Shift M-F 9/80 schedule
Pay Rate: $28-$34/hr

Essential Duties :

• Conduct analytical tasks with some automated tools.
  
• Focus on safety, direct technicians on analytical techniques, communicate workload priorities, maintain SOPs, multitask, use LIMS, represent the analytical team, train in wet-chemistry and instrumentation, participate in method development, manage procurement, learn Fire Assay Lab processes, operate Flow Injection Analyzer, track chemical inventory.
  
• Manage personnel, mentor junior chemists, oversee safety and reporting; handle purchase requisitions, budget discussions.
  
• Maintain quality and compliance, report consistently to standards, manage contractors.

Training & Experience :

• Bachelors/Masters in Chemistry or related field required.
  
• Basic computer and mathematical skills, team collaboration, understanding of procedures and regulatory issues.
  
• 2-5 years relevant work and laboratory experience recommended.
