Description

The scientist in this position would be responsible for chemical characterization of medical devices. This would include utilizing GC/MS, LC/MS, ICP-MS and FTIR for analysis. Knowledge of Extractable and Leachable (E&L) analysis is helpful.- Adhering to good documentation practices (GDP) and good laboratory practices (GLP)- sample preparation for liquid/liquid & solid/liquid extractions)- operate pH meters, microscopes, incubator/shakers, and analytical balancesPosition ResponsibilitiesoPartner with biocompatibility customers to determine testing needs and suggest testing strategiesoPerform E&L method development and analysis (LCMS, GC/MS, ICP/MS, FTIR, Raman, SEM)oPerform sample preparation techniques (SPE, liquid extractions, concentration, etc)oConduct design of experimentsoAct as SME for external E&L studies to be a liaison to the CROs and biocompatibility team for study designoExperience in statistical data analysis (Excel, Minitab, and JMP)oExperience in protocol and report writing along with scientific data reviewoSOP, Work Instruction and quality document writing-Method Validation Guidelines SME-LCMS or GC/MS SMEoPerform pharmaceutical E&L study design, data collection and analysis (USP 1663 and 1664)oPerform medical device E&L study design, data collection, material assessment and analysis (ISO10993)oOperate and maintain triple quad LCMS and orbitrap LCMS systemsoOperate and maintain GC/MS and ICP/MS systemsoAnalyze data with multiple software platformsoAbility to review, interpret and approve data

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr.
