Sr. Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Data Science Platform

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Role
Have you wanted an opportunity to develop the software applications and services for an advanced global telecom service? This role of for a Senior Software Engineer who will lead the design, implementation, and operations of globally available distributed systems geared towards controlling, managing, and monitoring Kuipers terrestrial devices. Youll build systems using the latest AWS technologies, leveraging best-in-industry software engineering practices.

Key job responsibilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement Telecom Applications and Services.
Partner with the Satellite, Networks and Security engineering teams.
Drive Customer Engagement Systems application and data architecture.
Evangelize engineering excellence best practices and mentor junior engineers.

About the team
Kuiper Data Science Platform team build services to ingest, transform, and aggregate data from various devices in Kuiper Network, and auto detect, diagnose, and resolve issues. We use ML technology to monitor customer experience and prevent fraud and abuse.

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
