Job Description Summary

The Chemical Operations Technician is responsible for all aspects pertaining to the Hydrogen Peroxide Purification Process. This includes ensuring the transfer of materials, chemical additions, and blends in a safe and timely manner. The role will also include some heavy lifting, climbing stairs and routine outdoor activities associated with the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Routinely check the condition of safety equipment in the plant and carry out corrective actions.

  • Collect or coordinate lab samples on a predetermined schedule for laboratory analyses.

  • Transfer chemicals to and from various process areas

  • Perform other routine operations, inspection rounds, batch process monitoring.

  • Monitor process for quality assurance.

  • Prepare equipment for Maintenance in accordance with plant safety policy to include LOTO and Safe Work permits.

  • Performs other minor maintenance such as valve, piping component changes.

  • Document Operations activities as well as Quality and Incident investigations.

  • Load product containers and offload/load railcars and transfer products between storage tanks.

  • Interact and communicate effectively with team members and across shifts.

  • Prepare month end inventory reports, monthly waste water reports and maintenance work requests.

  • Participate in all mandatory training and training refreshers

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Experience working in an operations capacity in a manufacturing environment

  • Working knowledge of chemical plant preferred

  • Solid computing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Experience with SAP and Share Point preferred
