SUMMARY

Be a leading technical contributor to the art and science of mixing technology at one of the largest fluid mixing equipment providers globally. Create and support premium mixing solutions for customers across the Lightnin, Philadelphia, Plenty, Stelzer, and Uutechnic brands. Generate innovative solutions that drive organizational growth through strategic initiatives and applied R&D projects. Showcase technical expertise through publications and conference contributions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Function as one of the Mixing Technology team's Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the field of fluid mixing, offering expertise in the candidate's established area of practice while building and expanding expertise in new areas of practice once on board.
  • Collaborate directly with Mixing Technology team members (i.e., engineers and technicians) on customer consulting, strategic initiatives, and applied R&D projects such as customer process optimizations and scale-up, correlation development for mixer sizing, and impeller technology development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Application Engineering, Commercial, Aftermarket, and other departments to serve customers and provide premium mixing solutions.
  • Scope customer and internal projects by interpreting stakeholder needs, draft proposals with sound project plans, and execute projects and deliver outcomes that achieve stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Complete fluid mixing projects utilizing a combination of theoretical calculations, physical experimentation, and/or computational simulation.
  • Support cross-functional colleagues on technical topics such as sizing and selection of mixers, performance guarantees, and process troubleshooting.
  • Act as an organizational resource and mentor, developing less experienced talent in fluid mixing or relevant adjacencies.
  • Represent the organization professionally and demonstrate technical expertise through written publications and oral conference presentations while building relationships across the international fluid mixing community.
  • Possess a masterful understanding of Mixing Solutions' family of impeller technology, process sizing procedures, and product offerings.
  • Remain apprised of competitors' technology, key application technology development, and academic advancements in fluid mixing.
  • Travel at a quarterly cadence to visit organizational locations, attend conferences, and visit customers, internationally as needed. Seek to match organizational needs and candidate interests with opportunities. 10% travel expected.

  • Ability to work independently and in groups productively is required.
  • Reading, interpreting, and applying written documentation such as scientific and technical journals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and test procedures is required.
  • Reading, comprehending, and authoring technical reports and correspondence is required.
  • Reading and comprehending basic legal and financial language in support of customer projects and core business operations is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees, is required.
  • Basic math skills, including calculating and manipulating figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, areas, circumference, and volumes, as well as using and converting units of measurement, are required.
  • Advanced math skills, including the application of differential equations, calculus, algebra, and geometry, are required.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form is required.
  • Project and team leadership competencies, including influential management, team building, and professional conflict resolution, are required.
  • Fluency in English is required. Additional language fluency is welcome.
  • Use of Microsoft products including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Physical operation, testing, and experimentation, specifically involving fluid mixing equipment is preferred.
  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling, specifically involving fluid mixing equipment using ANSYS Fluent and/or MStar CFD, is preferred
  • A sound background in fluid dynamics is preferred.
  • Engineering project management experience is preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience with fluid mixing equipment or their relevant process industries such as chemicals, mining and minerals, environmental, pharmaceutical, and/or food and beverage is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or similar field is required.
  • Graduate degree (Master's and/or Doctoral) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field is required.
  • Experience authoring published articles and conference presentations is preferred.
  • Experience developing intellectual property (e.g., trade secrets and patents) is preferred.
  • Relevant professional licensure and certifications are welcome.

Anticipated salary range for this position: $112,400/yr to $156,380/yr. The anticipated salary range is what we believe to be the likely base salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual salary for this position will depend on relevant qualifications, skills, and experience
