The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at DePauw University invites applications for a one-year term position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2025. Ph.D. (completed by August 2025) in Chemistry or Biochemistry is preferred; ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential. The department specifically seeks candidates to teach Chemistry 130 (Structure and Properties of Inorganic Compounds) and Chemistry 260 (Thermodynamics, Equilibrium and Kinetics). Teaching assignment is six courses per year (typically in the form of two courses with accompanying laboratories each semester), and funding is available for professional development and research with undergraduate students.
