Company Background easyXAFS is a quickly growing scientific instrumentation and measurement services business that is building and addressing a global market from our facility in Renton, Washington, just south of Seattle. Our products and services support academic and industrial efforts across a wide range of technical fields, including especially the development and deployment of improved catalysts. While our products are highly technical and the applicant will benefit from the specialized skills below, we fully anticipate training the successful candidate across a wide range of issues specific to our technology and its applications. Responsibilities We seek a full-time employee with a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, materials science, or chemical engineering or other engineering field to help with technical sales discussions, customer support, customer discovery, and associated product development for a high-level technical market centered on the application x-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) and closely related spectroscopies to academic and industrial development of improved catalysts and catalysis processes. Travel (including international travel) for customer-facing events and meetings is required in this position and will encompass ~15% of FTE. This will include technical conferences, instrument installation for customers in the catalyst sector, and site-visits to industrial customers for market discovery and technical discussion. Qualifications Prior experience in catalyst research and development, such as during Ph.D. work, is required. Prior experience in catalyst manufacture or industrial catalyst research and development is beneficial. Prior experience with x-ray methods, especially x-ray absorption spectroscopy (including XAFS and XES), is beneficial but may not be necessary. Particular experience with operando studies of catalysts, fuel cells, or other chemical reaction systems is beneficial. Pay : $80k-$100k, depending on relevant experience.
