APPLE INC has the following available for Software Development Engineer (REQ#200605605) in Seattle, Washington. Work on backend infrastructure that powers the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Data teams applications and workflows for analytics and machine learning. Ensure the reliability and performance at the highest level and evolve the platform infrastructure to meet the customers' needs. Manage and operate data infrastructure hosted in AWS. Configure, scale, and troubleshoot data processing and analytics infrastructure utilizing Flink, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, etc. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across AI/ML including data scientists, software engineers, and system administrators to analyze and optimize infrastructure for different forms of data needs. Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data transformation workflows to enable timely and accurate data processing. Set up and manage data storage solutions, including databases (SQL and NoSQL), data lakes, and distributed file systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and scalability. Develop and maintain deployment scripts, configuration templates, and infrastructure blueprints to ensure consistent and repeatable infrastructure setup. Ensure stringent security and regulatory compliance within the organization by implementing and managing comprehensive access control and security frameworks. $135,400 - $204,000/yr.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:

1. Develop RESTful APIs and micro services using C++ and Python for scalable and efficient backend systems.

2. Experience using data analytics tools Presto (Trino), ElasticSearch, and Apache Hive.

3. Optimize database performance and reliability using advanced SQL and NoSQL techniques.

4. Use Continuous Integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure that changes are incorporated into shipping software and deployed correctly.

5. Utilize logging and metrics visualization tools such as Datadog and Splunk

6. Architect and implement large scale distributed systems leveraging cloud computing platforms such as AWS.

7. Implement asynchronous I/O and multi-threading techniques to optimize system performance and responsiveness.

8. Integrate access management strategies into data pipelines and services to ensure compliance with data privacy and security policies.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 - $204,000/yr., and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
