Position Description

A postdoctoral position is currently available, in the laboratory of Dr. David L. Spector at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, for a highly motivated outstanding individual to study Long Non-Coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in Pluripotency and Differentiation. LncRNAs are an exciting class of of RNA molecules among which very few have thus far been functionally characterized in depth. We performed an RNA-seq screen in mouse embryonic stem cells and neural progenitor cells and identified differentially expressed lncRNAs. The proposed studies will build upon these findings and use innovative methods to interrogate the functional role of specific lncRNAs in pluripotency, differentiation, and disease. This knowledge will lead to new potential opportunities in regulating these processes to influence differentiation and impact reprogramming. Spector Lab
