The Coil Division has an immediate opening for an Associate Chemist at its Minneapolis campus. You will grow your chemistry knowledge while developing high-performance coil coatings. The position includes evaluating new polymers and raw materials. The associate chemist will also build skills in managing and coordinating various laboratory operations, project management, and report creation.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H-1B visa.

RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with a mentor chemist developing, reformulating, maintaining, and enhancing products through planning, executing and analysis of experiments with clear and accurate results
Display a basic working knowledge of the use of chemicals, raw materials, substrate preparation and use instruments commonly found in a lab environment
Responsible for inputting data, data analysis and technical documentation daily into lab books or a database.
Evaluate different polymers for coil application
Functioning under substantial supervision, but may lead individual or group projects
Utilizing advanced technologies to develop products that demonstrate improvements and difference that customer can perceive and will desire
Performing basic paint and paint making processes, meets manufactures specifications
Performing basic coating formulations, applications, and physical/performance testing methods
Providing timely and accurate data to help resolve field complaints, raw material issues, manufacturing problems, and support existing and new product development
Presenting data and finding for both internal and external communications
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Application and troubleshooting of digital printing and other coil coating systems
Visiting manufacturing sites and/or application sites for monitoring or troubleshooting
Assessment of weathering/corrosion test panels
Adhere to company safety standards at all times
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field.
Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication, and data analysis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum six months of industrial coil coatings lab experience
Laboratory work with various coil coating types including radiation cure coatings
Experience or knowledge in digital printing technology
Travel Requirements: 15%
