Job Type Full-time Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Thiol Lab Chemist's primary function is Terpene and Thiol analysis on different types of Hop products in support of production, Agronomy R D, and Production R D. The Thiol Lab Chemist will perform accurate lab analysis and report results in a timely, professional manner internally and for customers. The Thiol Lab Chemist will be well-versed in lab procedures and instrumental analysis, meeting Hopsteiner's high-quality hop product manufacturing standards. The Thiol Lab Chemist will also participate in method development with the various departments. Operate the lab instrumentation (GC-MS/MS with SCD detector), experience preferred. Method Development Maintain the Instruments and maintain calibration and associated standards. Keep lab chemicals, gases, and standard supplies filled and maintain inventory. Wash glassware and store glassware away each day. Clean the lab and empty chemical waste containers. Enter sample descriptions and results into the lab database. Prepare reports from lab data and route to appropriate persons and file records in a timely manner. Prepare and give presentations as needed. Understand the OSHA Safety/Health Plan. Perform all other duties as assigned. Assist with general lab support as needed. Requirements Experience, Education, and Licensure/Certification Requirements: Advanced degree in Chemistry Laboratory experience in educational coursework and/or employment preferred. Required Skills/Abilities: Computer literacy required. Must be comfortable working in a laboratory environment performing experiments, testing, and handling chemicals. Must work well with others as well as work independently. Must be self-motivating, innovative, and provide technical expertise. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistently, meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Salary Description $60,000 - $70,000/yr.
