This position will lead technical efforts in Nitinol shape-set tool design and component heat treatment, driving innovation in micro-fabrication and manufacturing technologies. This role combines hands-on expertise with mentorship, supporting rapid prototyping and production transition. The ideal candidate brings expert SolidWorks skills, Nitinol experience, and a strong background in tool design and advanced manufacturing.
Must have nitinol experience.
Responsibilities- Design and develop innovative tools and fixtures for micro-manufacturing.
- Serve as a technology leader, training teams and sharing best practices across sites.
- Collaborate on Lightspeed rapid prototyping and seamless production transitions.
- Mentor peers in setup, troubleshooting, and process development.
- Ensure compliance with ISO-certified systems, quality documentation, and best measurement practices.
- Own and monitor data accuracy, ensuring metrics align with site goals and maintaining data integrity.
- Lead cross-functional teams in R&D, Advanced Technology Group (ATG) initiatives, and production readiness projects.
- Evaluate system designs, perform testing/validation, and document process parameters.
- Identify unmet customer needs and recommend new technologies to improve system performance.
- Proactively communicate with customers, providing solutions and recovery plans for issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across departments, advancing Resonetics technologies and processes.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in engineering/science or equivalent, with 8+ years of experience (6+ years with a Masters).
- Expertise in SolidWorks, tool design, and fabrication.
- Proficiency in materials science, especially Nitinol and medical device materials.
- Familiarity with ISO-certified quality systems and GD&T standards.
- Experience in validations (e.g., TMV, GRR, OQ/PQ).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ownership of data metrics and monitoring for accuracy.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to present complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
- Master's degree or PhD in an engineering or science discipline
- Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience preferably Abaqus
- Able to work in an office environment and travel independently.
The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $120,000.00 - $160,000.00.
