- Perform analysis of materials using tests such as pH, Turbidity, Brix, Salt, Alcohol, Total Nitrogen, and Microbiological Sampling and testing.
- Conduct standardized quality sampling and checks during production, reporting variances and non-conformities to management.
- Support production by conducting quality inspections before, during, and between product runs.
- Monitor plant sanitation and personal hygiene, reporting repeat offenders to management.
- Prepare samples for shipment and send them for outside testing, updating results, and alerting management to discrepancies or issues.
- Place and release products on hold according to company policy.
- Receive new ingredients, contact suppliers for documentation, and maintain ingredient information files.
- Organize and update all Laboratory QC documentation and analysis data, including data entry.
- Maintain lab equipment, perform calibration/performance verification, and troubleshoot equipment and systems as needed.
- Manage laboratory supply stock for general analysis, including solutions and general office supplies.
- Support the QC Manager in customer service issues and assist the QC team with designated projects.
- Pursue excellence and continuously develop technical and personal skills.
- Basic laboratory skills through experience or a degree.
- Proficiency in pipetting, micro plating techniques, pH testing, and reading a graduated cylinder.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Effective and professional communication skills.
- Quality control knowledge and understanding of HACCP.
- Basic science skills are necessary.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Working in a smaller lab with a typical schedule of 11 AM - 8:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 12 PM - 4:30 PM on Fridays (40 hours). Occasionally, hours may shift to accommodate third shift absences or increased production needs. You will need to visit production lines to gather samples.
