ROLE SUMMARY

The Immunogenicity Sciences Group within the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, and Metabolism (PDM) Department of Pfizers Preclinical & Translational Sciences is a dynamic industry-leading team whose mission is to identify key risks associated with unwanted clinical immunogenicity and influence drug design to mitigate those risks.

The Senior Principal Scientist, reporting to the Immunogenicity Sciences (ISci) Lead will play a pivotal role in the group. The role will have accountability for designing non-clinical immunogenicity risk assessment strategies for Pfizers biologics portfolio, overseeing their execution, and support ISci lab-based scientists in their critical role in delivering decision-making data within project timelines. For this, the role will collaborate closely with and key stakeholders across Pfizers Research and Development, including Protein Engineering, Clinical Pharmacology, Drug Safety, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and represent the group in cross-disciplinary activities and initiatives. As well, the role will drive the identification, development and deployment of innovative methods and approaches in support of non-clinical risk assessment and immunogenicity mitigation by design to contribute to the advancement of immunogenicity sciences. This unique opportunity will immerse the successful candidate in a diverse array of biotherapeutics modalities being designed and developed to meet patients needs across Oncology, Inflammation & Immunology, and Internal Medicine.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as primary point of contact for all biologics portfolio project teams
  • Design adequate immunogenicity de-risking strategies for biologics programs based on each program specificities
  • Oversee execution of the strategies to deliver high quality decision-making data within project timelines
  • Support ISci lab-based scientists in their pivotal role in data generation, analysis and interpretation
  • Drive innovation through identification, development and deployment of state-of-the art technologies and approaches in support of non-clinical immunogenicity risk assessment
  • Represent ISci in cross-disciplinary activities and initiatives
  • Contribute to a change-agile, high performing culture of innovation, impact, accountability, mutual respect and trust in a fast-paced matrix environment

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Technical Skills

  • PhD with 6+ years of industry experience in drug discovery and development
  • Core expertise & formal education in Immunology
  • Recognized expertise in immunogenicity risk assessment of biologics
  • Extensive practice of project management achieving results in a complex matrix environment
  • Comprehensive hands-on experience with non-clinical immunogenicity risk assessment tools and analytical platforms
  • Solid knowledge of state-of-the art in silico prediction models
  • Understanding of opportunities and challenges related to translation of in vitro and in silico tools
  • Significant knowledge of clinical immunogenicity monitoring and mitigation
  • Direct experience in interacting with external organizations, including academics and CROs
  • Track record of scientific achievement in the field of immunogenicity (publications, presentations)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,800.00 to $201,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
