What Youll Do
- Set up, optimize, and troubleshoot sophisticated distillation equipment, including heating, cooling, vacuum, and pressure systems.
- Prepare and transport chemical samples with precision, following rigorous protocols.
- Employ analytical tools like gas chromatography to assess product purity and composition.
- Analyze data to ensure process compliance, troubleshoot deviations, and drive continuous improvements.
- Monitor critical process variables to enhance yield, quality, and batch consistency.
- Generate comprehensive technical reports and test documentation to support ongoing process enhancements.
- Maintain the highest safety standards, ensuring all equipment and workspaces meet safety and cleanliness protocols.
- Organize and uphold a safe, efficient laboratory environment.
- Mentor colleagues and foster a collaborative culture of learning and innovation.
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field; Masters degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of practical experience in distillation and analytical chemistry techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of vacuum distillation and proficiency with gas chromatography.
- Experience handling hazardous materials with strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Physical capability to handle heavy containers (up to 700 lbs.) and work confidently at heights using ladders.
- A proactive approach with keen attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This is an on-site position based in Danbury, CT.
- The role involves exposure to hazardous materials, requiring strict safety compliance.
- Physical demands include lifting, climbing, and long periods of standing.
