Postdoctoral Fellow - Cancer Biology (Perelli Lab)

A full-time postdoctoral fellow position is open in the lab of Assistant Professor Dr. Luigi Perelli, located in the Department of Cancer Biology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The training will consist of interdisciplinary research methods combining in vivo somatic genome editing, manipulation of pre-clinical cancer models, and pharmacological treatment in vivo to explore therapeutic approaches targeting intratumor heterogeneity and cell plasticity.
The trainee is expected to:
1) Design experiments
2) Perform experiments in vitro and in vivo
3) Report research output formally in presentations
4) Disseminate research findings in conferences and publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
The trainee is also expected to apply for fellowship and fundings opportunities.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct lab-based research on environmental pressures affecting clonal selection and pre-cancer cell plasticity to discover novel molecular mechanisms driving tumorigenesis. The postdoctoral fellow will integrate a rich repertoire of technologies, in vivo somatic genome editing, 3D cultures, single cell profiling, pharmacological, and metabolomic studies.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The qualified candidate should hold a PhD or a MD/PhD degree.
Preferred candidates will also have previous lab expertise in managing mouse models of cancer and pharmacological treatments of animal models.
