Description We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our dynamic team in the heart development lab. The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge research aimed at understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying heart development, with a focus on cardiomyocyte differentiation, cardiac morphogenesis, and congenital heart disease. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking discoveries in cardiovascular biology using advanced techniques such as CRISPR, stem cell models, and tissue engineering. Responsibilities Conduct independent and collaborative research on heart development, including stem cell differentiation, gene editing, and model systems. Design and perform experiments to investigate the molecular pathways driving cardiac differentiation and tissue patterning. Analyze data using bioinformatics tools and contribute to writing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Mentor graduate students and contribute to the training of junior lab members. Present research findings at lab meetings, national/international conferences, and other academic forums. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including biologists, engineers, and clinicians, to advance the understanding of heart development and regeneration. Qualifications Qualifications: Ph.D. in molecular biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, or a related field. Strong background in heart development, stem cell biology, and molecular techniques (e.g., CRISPR, qPCR, RNA-seq, immunohistochemistry). Experience with in vitro models, including pluripotent stem cells and cardiac differentiation protocols. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong publication record is preferred. Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
