Medical Lab Scientist II

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to ensure quality patient care. As a Medical Lab Scientist, you will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring the accuracy of test results.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

• 2-4 years of clinical lab testing experience.
• Generalist experience in Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Chemistry.
• Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Familiarity with Cerner and laboratory information systems.

• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
• Chemistry analyzer maintenance experience is preferred.

The work environment includes supporting a core laboratory setting. Employees are expected to maintain a safe workspace and adhere to safety protocols by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
