Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to ensure quality patient care. As a Medical Lab Scientist, you will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring the accuracy of test results. Responsibilities
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- 2-4 years of clinical lab testing experience.
- Generalist experience in Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Chemistry.
- Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
- Familiarity with Cerner and laboratory information systems.
- ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
- Chemistry analyzer maintenance experience is preferred.
