Summary
Iowa State University is seeking a detail-oriented (MLT) Medical Laboratory Technician to support diagnostic testing services in the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position plays a vital role in performing diagnostic tests across various species, ensuring quality control, and assisting in training future veterinary professionals in a clinical and research laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic testing, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, and cytology, on multi-species samples.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers.
- Manage blood banking and coagulation procedures.
- Enter and review test data in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Train students, residents, and new staff on lab procedures and equipment.
- Conduct quality control checks and routine instrument maintenance.
- Maintain lab inventory, organize referral test submissions, and update lab records.
