A full-time position for a Postdoctoral Associate or Research Scientist is available in the Slotkin Lab at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. The Slotkin Lab research program explores the cross-section of transposable elements, epigenetics and genome engineering. The candidate will use this combination to design, build and test approaches to engineer crop genomes. Previous experience is desired in molecular cloning, CRISPR-Cas and plant transformation. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise records of research findings and the analysis of results
  • Establish and run design / build / test pipelines to engineer plant genomes
  • Mentor others and work collaboratively in the lab to learn and aid in other projects
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, and mentor graduate and/or undergraduate students as appropriate
  • Present research at professional meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. degree in a field related to Plant Molecular Biology, Genetics or other related field is required
  • Experience with tissue culture-based plant transformation is required
