Job Summary

You will be joining project teams responsible for the development of test solutions and architectures for various product development projects. Test architectures include a blend of customized and COTS Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), along with custom electro-mechanical holding fixtures and associated interface cabling and harnessing. Engineers in this role will also have exposure to the full lifecycle development process including requirements definition of the test solution design process through the verification and validation.

Essential Functions

  • Design, specify, create and modify software and hardware tools and fixtures to support product development testing at all phases of development
  • Create validation plans for these tools and fixtures
  • Lead self and project team, and influence decisions regarding software test architecture, interfaces to test fixture, and test fixture design
  • Contribute to project planning , schedules, and work estimates for test system use and integration
  • Lead execution of plans by delegation and individual contribution
  • Participate in all aspects of the product development life cycle
  • Create and review test results and reports
  • Stay current with test methodologies and trends through activities such as self-study, webinars, seminars, user group meetings, and conferences
  • Follow standard operating procedures and test engineering best practices
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to positive environment that creates high quality solutions

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required
  • (8) years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and (5) years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in an design and development environment with 8+ years of direct experience with Test Equipment design and development tasks
  • Experience leading technical teams and projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with tools such as MS Project, Jira, Sharepoint, bug tracking
  • Strong interpersonal and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with National Instruments TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW
  • Digital, and/or Analog, and/or RF, and/or power supply test hardware design experience
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment, i.e. Oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, power supplies, etc.
  • Experience with medical device development is desired
