A leading formulator and manufacturer of specialty coatings, adhesives, and sealants serving the construction and industrial end markets is seeking a qualified individual for a key role. This position is responsible for adding the indicated raw materials to a mixer following a batch instruction sheet with special attention to quality. The role follows established standard operating procedures with a strong emphasis on safety rules and company policies.
Key Responsibilities- Follow daily scheduled activities as indicated by supervisor.
- Handle chemicals safely.
- Batch, weigh, and sample materials.
- Blend and weigh ingredients according to the SOP specifications.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and throughout the facility.
- Responsible for the daily upkeep of the work area and any equipment included in it.
- Report any problems or unusual situations to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain schedule efficiency to meet production demand.
- Communicate closely with the supervisor and QC technician during the batch process.
- Report and/or record inventory movements resulting from each batch onto a batch sheet.
- Perform periodic sampling for quality control.
- Follow directions from the supervisor and/or QC technician to ensure product meets established quality control standards.
- Assist in general labor tasks as needed and indicated by the supervisor.
- Assist in the training of new personnel on the safe operation of mixing equipment.
- Maintain a good attendance record and punctuality.

- Strong attention to detail.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and monitor multiple processes simultaneously.
- Experience reading and working with SOPs is a plus.
- Experience working with chemicals and/or light chemical manufacturing is preferred.
- Basic math skills and the ability to apply them in a work environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change priorities and direction as needed.
- Positive attitude towards work and ability to work well as a team member.
- After training, demonstrate understanding and competency on safety rules and regulations through written or verbal examination.
- Ability to understand and follow posted signage throughout the facility.
- Clear understanding of lock-out, tag-out procedures.
- Familiarity with the standard operating procedure and operator manual for the safe operation of equipment.
- Clear understanding of hazard communication policies.
- Required to have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20.
- Ability to hear and speak.
- Full range of motion to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop, or kneel.
- Ability to complete repetitive strenuous work under varying climate conditions.
- Ability to safely lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Work in a plant environment with varying levels of temperature and physical requirements.
Ability to work in confined spaces as required, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations. Upon completion of specific confined space training, the employee may perform the cleaning of tanks, using shovels, air tools, or other equipment within a confined space.
