A postdoctoral research position is open to join the vibrant research team of Dr. Nihar Pradhan at Jackson State University, where we are at the forefront of cutting-edge research in nanoscale materials and device Physics. We are excited to announce an immediate opening for highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher particularly in the area of 2D materials and their heterostructure, exploring physics of ferroelectricity and their application in energy efficient electronic devices. This position is based at Jackson State University, working in close collaboration with Army research Lab and other National Labs.

Examples of Duties
  • Engage in the synthesis of 2D materials using CVD and CVT techniques.

  • Collaborate with experts in the field to fabricate heterostructure nanoscale devices integrating various 2D materials.

  • Perform electrical transport, atomic force microscopy and optical measurements.

  • Contributing to groundbreaking research. Work closely with graduate and undergraduate students, bolstering a collaborative research environment.

  • Travel between National Lab (user facility) and Jackson State University as needed to advance research objectives.

  • Contribute to the publication of scientific manuscripts and share your findings through presentations at national and international conferences.

Typical Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Nanoscience, Engineering, Material Science, or related physical sciences field.

  • Strong expertise in materials synthesis using CVD and CVT technique or similar 2D materials synthesis route.

  • Proficiency in device fabrication utilizing lithography techniques.

  • Experience working in a clean room environment.

  • Ability to conduct electrical transport measurements of nanoscale devices.

  • Expertise in Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) technique to explore ferroelectricity in 2D materials.

  • A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
